Carola Czempik

One of the main points of my artistic work is the creation of projects on aspects of the Shoa. Dialogue with contemporary poetry is leading the way. In the context of questions of climate development - especially with regard to the situation of the oceans - a further focus has developed within my artistic work. I use a rock flour technique that I have developed myself. Within a process-oriented layering of material, I create a specific rhythm of the elements. Fine and coarse rock flours, earths and coloured pigments transform into structures through liquefaction and solidification as well as through constant removal of the sediments-like deposits, to which I add theme-related forms, drawings or writing. Within this transformation, fragments of clothing are often formed, which refer to a body and its absence.
