C. Nansen
C. Nansen is a Spanish artist from Cadiz, presently based in Oslo, Norway.
Driven by her fascination of understanding nature, she embraced science and graduated in oceanography and geology. After attending workshops and Art degree courses in Oslo and Barcelona, she started combing art and science passions in watercolour illustrations. This resulted in several artistic projects over the last decade, including supporting animal welfare organizations and the illustration of books.
“I have never stopped painting. Anything related to art was my favourite activity when I was a child and still my obsession now as an adult. I believe that any handcraft, brings you to the current moment, widen your perspective and open a space in the “now”. In this space you live all intensively and you are totally connected with yourself and the surrounding.”
Currently, C. Nansen showcases her attraction for the analysis of the present moment using abstract art. Her unique acrylic paintings represent a time-lapsed journey through events that mark life, dealing with the subject of uncertainty. Her motives are associated with life events that shake her perspective and make her fully aware of time. In her creative process, she is largely catalysed by music and readings on psychology, philosophy and science.
“I believe that there are things in us - for example, intuition - that we may not understand or define, but somehow come out through the creative process. By expressing them through any kind of art, we get to discover ourselves”
