Michael Patrick Thieme
Born in 1976 MPT has always been a creative type. Early interest in Architecture led him to study and become a licensed Architect after graduating from the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana. As part of his education, MPT lived and studied in Versailles, France. It was an opportunity to soak in all things Architecture, Art, Cuisine, Fashion and Design. A love for the desert heat, mountains, and cacti, led him to move to Phoenix then Las Vegas after graduating and practicing Architecture. It was in 2008 that he put ideas onto canvas. He was a founding member of the Emergency Arts scene on Fremont where he had his first small gallery space. After taking a personal hiatus from painting, MPT returned to the scene with his first major project called [10x10x10x10], a new series of 100, 10”x10” acrylic on canvas paintings. Each a unique work, created by his technique of painting Lines, individually One at a Time. The entire collection uses his limited palette of only 18 colors. He now has a gallery/studio space in the World Famous Arts Factory. This year, he achieved permanent representation of a fine art gallery in Palm Springs, CA and received Juror’s Choice for a group show in Key West, FL. In 2026 he has begun ‘scaling up’ specific concepts onto larger canvas sizes. He continues to create and explore using modifications and repetitions of the Line.
